Investment banker and meditation teacher Jim Conley joins Sunny (Gurpreet) Singh and Thomas Power in the next episode of the ‘Living with Sunny’ Youtube podcast series. The three experts discuss the most prevalent issues in wellness: meditation, Wholistic Wellbeing in the corporate setting, hypnosis, and more. Living with Sunny’s episode X is out now on YouTube and chosen podcast destinations.

Jim Conley is an investment banker, meditation teacher, and one of five co-founders of The Mindforce Institute. He is certified in Contemplative Psychotherapy by the Nalanda Institute, an intensive two-year program integrating Western contemporary psychotherapy, neuroscience, and wellness psychology with the mindfulness and compassion-based systems of Buddhist psychology and meditation. He shares his life story with the listeners.

Conley feels like the way his life panned out was not planned, but he sees the value in it. Early on, he was a pre-med student and an athlete but eventually ended up as a banker. In the end, his penchant for nurturing and generosity of spirit led him into the world of wellness, meditation, mindfulness, and resilience training. In 2019, he created the “Mindful Awareness Training” workshop: a secular overview of the four scopes of mindfulness combined with practical experiential techniques, 8 useful meditation-tastings, and Lovingkindness compassion practices — woven together with neuroscience, psychology and, with the luck of good timing, fueled by global interest in the ‘mindfulness movement’ (i.e. somatic embodied practices combined with visualization).

In the course of the discussion, Singh has made an observation about the value of COVID-19 pandemic:

“I tell my friends that you know, with Covid, what Covid has proven to us is that the emperor has no clothes. And the modern lifestyle is leading to a lot of lifestyle diseases, and we’ve been living with it, we’ve been living with things that we should not live with. We should be addressing them. We should be confronting them. We should be solving them. We should be overcoming them. And that is not happening.”

Jaewon feels that it is important that we, as citizens of a community take active participation in its wholistic wellbeing. “We usually call it the ‘Transparent Governance System’. Because most of the cities develop by very small group of entities. The Smart Cities is more open to its citizens. I mean, citizens’ involvement in these kinds of activities are more important in the Smart City initiatives”, he emphasises.

Particularly talking about wholistic wellbeing of a Smart City, Singh agrees with Jaewon:

“Smart cities should incorporate into their whole framework, how does the community in the Put the humans at the centre of a Smart City. It is about humanity and humans. It is about enabling something for humanity in a positive way. It’s almost like wellbeing should be a core value of Smart Cities”.

Filmmaker Kireet Khurana joins Sunny (Gurpreet) Singh and Thomas Power in the seventh episode of the ‘Living with Sunny’ Youtube podcast series. The three experts discuss the most prevalent issues in wellness: homelessness in India, poverty, impactful filmmaking, and more. Living with Sunny’s episode 7 is out now on YouTube and chosen podcast destinations.

Kireet Khurana is an Indian animator. In his career of 12 years, he has made over 300 short films, documentary films, ad films and also directed India’s first live action-3D animation film “Toonpur Ka Superhero”. Over the years he has won 5 President’s National Awards and 3 International Awards including Japan and Austria. He shares his extensive knowledge as a director with the listeners.

Khurana feels that he has a calling to make meaningful films, regardless of how popular the topic may be. “67 million is the population of France. You have 70 million destitute people in India. And you’re telling me that there is no market for this film? What kind of market are we talking about? Who is going to stand up for them? I mean, there are 42 million sex workers who are, most of them are victims of human trafficking. I know that there is no market for it, but is it about the market? Or is it about having a heart?” says Khurana.

In the corporate responsibility area, Singh has made a plea for the corporations to:

“For every corporation in the world should take ownership of a social initiative, or more than one, or a partial social initiative. Something they’re passionate about and something they believe in. But take ownership of it, don’t write a cheque to a charity. Partner up with it but you own it. Because companies are the best at solving problems, why, because that’s why they were formed in the first place, to solve a problem. That would cause a sea change”.

The three experts discuss the most prevalent issues in sustainability, entrepreneurship, innovation, China’s development, and more. Living with Sunny’s episode 6 is out now on YouTube and chosen podcast destinations.

Professor Yu Xiong is an academic, researcher and serial entrepreneur. He was trained as a computer scientist, then became a professor in various business schools across the UK. He is active in doing research, growing start-ups, and creating his own companies. He shares his extensive knowledge about innovation with the listeners.

The conversation has included a comparison between Chinese vs. Western work cultures. “In China, people work for most of their time. 12 o’clock, in China, is like daytime in the UK. All the shops are open, especially the food shops and the entertainment centres. However, people don’t just tirelessly, without direction. For each endeavour, the government will have a whitepaper, a document that will say, let’s work on the direction for the next 5 years. Then it’s 5 years. Nothing like in the UK”, says Xiong.

In the sustainability area, Singh has made a plea for the Western leaders to introduce a global green tax: “America says, ok, we’re going to have a global 10% tax rate, mandatory across the world. They were able to achieve that. What makes us think that we are not able to achieve, through the will, through the political and the corporate will, that every corporation in the world has to give X percent, towards sustainability, and if they don’t do that, they get taxed a bit higher. I can live with that”.

The story of Dr. Paula Petry is one of courage, grief, and overcoming the adversity of losing a child. Together with Sunny (Gurpreet) Singh and Thomas Power, in the fourth episode of the “Living with Sunny ” YouTube Podcast series, the three wellbeing seekers discuss the rising need of society to embrace Wholistic Wellbeing and how to regain balance after a traumatic experience in life. ‘Living with Sunny’ episode 4 is now out on YouTube and selected podcast destinations.

The conversation began with Dr. Paula sharing her journey through the painful time when her daughter, Alexandra, was ailing with myelomeningocele and passed away. She expanded on the challenge of raising a child with a disability.

“When tough times hit, we need to settle into ourselves, into our very core and decide what is best for us. We went up against all establishments in our decision. We moved to Miami for better quality care. And in that, I had an opportunity to form a non-profit, help other children, help other families, advocate on behalf of all other children, and realising that we all deserve the same,” she adds pointedly.

The ‘Living with Sunny’ YouTube podcast series is co-hosted by Sunny (Gurpreet) Singh and Thomas Power. As seekers of wellbeing, the two interview a range of figures from the worlds of Business, Medicine, Academia, Science, Technology, Wellness experts, and more, to explore individual wellbeing journeys and map out society’s progress towards a better, more harmonious world.

This episode introduces a holistic approach to the constant process of healing the pain of loss, whilst embracing a knowing that life is eternal. It is through sheer love and passion that we can break your glass ceilings of limiting beliefs.

The episode also focuses on the wellbeing of children.

“I feel that children are the best teachers. When we facilitate the growth and learning of our children, we are in fact facilitating our own growth as adults. And so, to be in the service of facilitating our children, we are doing ourselves a favor, and not the children. Listening to Paula, I feel that Paula’s story is a story of Wholistic Wellbeing, and Paula is Wholistic Wellbeing,” summarised Sunny while moderating the end of the session.

Sunny is pioneering a vision of Wholistic Wellbeing composed of eight pillars: Emotional Wellbeing, Physical Wellbeing, Social Wellbeing, Financial Wellbeing, Professional Wellbeing, Community Wellbeing, Planetary Wellbeing, and Spiritual Wellbeing.

As a seeker, Sunny has long studied how the use of holistic health can help everyone achieve a feeling of wholeness necessary to their overall wellbeing. Wholistic Wellbeing, with its idiosyncratic spelling, is also about becoming a better person; mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Dr LaMondre Pough joins Sunny (Gurpreet) Singh and Thomas Power in the third episode of the ‘Living with Sunny’ Youtube podcast series. The three experts discuss rising issues in wellbeing and inclusion, especially giving out inspirational quotes regarding living with disability, diversity, empowerment, and much more. Living with Sunny’s episode 3 is out now on YouTube and selected podcast destinations.

The conversation centred around living a happy life in spite of the difficulties that we may encounter. LaMondre was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy as a young child and is now the CEO of BillionStrong, an organization that empowers audiences to embrace diversity and create environments where people genuinely belong.

“I believe that life is worth living and when you discover purpose when you realize that you have a purpose when you have a reason to take the next breath, that next breath should be a joyous breath, and that’s how I’ve been all my life, and honestly, no matter what challenges we face, no matter what it is that we’re going through, I believe that having an attitude where you’re thankful, having an attitude of being grateful, that that is something that allows me to have hope, that is something that allows me to have energy. So, there is a quote that I created that is: ‘Gratitude is the narrative of hope’, says LaMondre.

The ‘Living with Sunny’ YouTube podcast series is co-hosted by Sunny (Gurpreet) Singh and Thomas Power. As seekers of wellbeing, the two interview a range of figures from the worlds of business, medicine, academia, science, technology, and publishing, to explore individual wellbeing journeys and map out society’s progress towards a better, more harmonious world, across various industries.

This episode was mostly to introduce critical concepts related to wellbeing and mental health as well as the two protagonists of this journey.

In the second episode of the ‘Living with Sunny’ Youtube podcast series, out now on YouTube and selected podcast destinations, Thomas Power joins Sunny (Gurpreet) Singh to discuss the most topical issues in wellbeing: climate change, the importance of good sleep, mindful eating, and much more.

The conversation started around the Covid Pandemic, for that is one important cause of social stress in the last year or so. “Nature throws a curveball called COVID. We got a lemon, we gotta make lemonade out of it. Let’s not let this become a wasted opportunity, learn from it, and better ourselves better how we live better how we take our planet. I will never advocate sitting in a house in isolation, zooming in and out, you know, one session to the other. That’s not what life is. Life is interaction. Wellbeing is interaction. Wellbeing is getting to know people, meeting people, talking to them, taking care of the planet, and so on and so forth,” Sunny said, kicking off a vivid conversation between the two of them.

Sunny strongly believes in the Wholistic Wellbeing concept. That is what this podcast really is about. Wholistic Wellbeing makes you feel better; it is about becoming a better person, mentally, emotionally, and physically.

“The world has been changed forever with COVID-19, and we need to embrace the changes it has brought about, namely: greater public awareness of mental health struggles; of the vast gaps in healthcare access around the world; and a new approach to human health that is preventative rather than curative. That is what Living with Sunny is all about,” said podcast host and RoundGlass founder Sunny (Gurpreet) Singh.

As seekers of wellbeing, Sunny and Thomas will interview a range of figures from the worlds of business, medicine, academia, science, technology, and publishing, to explore individual wellbeing journeys and map out society’s progress towards a better, more harmonious world, across various industries.

“Why this podcast, and why now? Because the pandemic has driven wholistic health and wellbeing to the forefront of both science and business.” Sunny (Gurpreet) Singh.

The inaugural episode will see Sunny and Thomas interview the bright and brilliant Vernon Sankey, a serial executive, board director, and the author of two books: The Stairway to Happiness and The Way: Finding Peace in Turbulent Times. Sankey has made a name for himself not just as an exceptional executive, but also as a talented writer whose emotional intuition and sensitivity set him apart from his peers.

Himself a champion of Wholistic Wellbeing, Sankey dives into his past and shares nuggets of wisdom from his life in the corporate world, where he has become a pioneer of workplace wellbeing. But the conversation also goes beyond the workplace, venturing into Planetary Wellbeing, the importance of good teachers, and the need to live in the moment.

With their joint corporate expertise, Sunny and Thomas are particularly interested in addressing the issue of corporate wellbeing and manifesting the institutionalisation of Wholistic Wellbeing in the workplace. Their podcast will explore how businesses might adopt a new, preventative approach to wellbeing and replace current corporate healthcare packages with more wholistic alternatives that cover physical as well as financial, professional, social, planetary, community and emotional wellbeing, contiguous with the vision of Wholistic Wellbeing pioneered by Sunny. Combining business expertise with medical progressivism to usher forth a new era in corporate wellbeing, Sunny and Thomas hope to enact momentous change for the better.

The interview will profile Sunny Gurpreet Singh a serial entrepreneur and a corporate wellness leader. Sunny Gurpreet Singh is the founder of RoundGlass, a wellbeing and wellness platform, app and community that is fast growing.

Sunny Gurpreet Singh has made wellness and wellbeing his life career. Corporate Wellness is a concept that has been around for some time now and it refers to activities and educational tools offered to employees on-site to help them with stress management, nutrition. Something that Sunny Gurpreet Singh and RoundGlass is aiming to achieve.

Sunny Gurpreet Singh Interview Focus

In the ClubHouse Special event, Thomas Power and Sunny Gurpreet Singh will discuss the growing wellness digital economy. Wellness and wellbeing are two concepts that aren’t intangible anymore and have become measurable, opening the door to a so-called new wellness digital economy, giving way to different solutions, like Wellbeing-as-a-Service (WaaS) and WellTech. This thriving wellness digital economy is worth $2.2 billion in investment, much of it allocated to WellTech. And this is just the beginning, the market is forecasted to be valued at $4,377.95 millions by 2027. This sector is part of the growing $4.5 Trillion Wellness business, driven by the pursuit to merge with the healthcare industry, into a whole new market.

Besides the wellness digital economy and corporate wellness, the ClubHouse interview will also focus on the following topics:

1. Childhood, background, overview, education…of Sunny Gurpreet Singh;
2. Moving from India to the USA
3. How did Sunny Gurpreet Singh build edifecs.com to become a unicorn?
6. The process of building edifecs.com, how did Sunny pivot the company from failure to a unicorn?
7. How did Sunny Gurpreet Singh discover wellbeing and wellness?
8. How Sunny built RoundGlass around the concept of “how to live”.
9. Wholistic wellness is an approach that looks at a person’s health in a holistic way. This considers their body, mind and spirit. The attention to all these three is needed to stay balanced. Sunny created the concept of “wholistic wellbeing”. Can he elaborate in a summary way?
10. Corporate Wellness is something very dear to Sunny. Can Sunny tell us about how he sees this concept?
11. Sunny is building RoundGlass in a 20 years vision and journey. Can he tell us how can we do that in actionable steps?
12. Sunny has been doing a powerful work on RoundGlass sustain and with the RoundGlass foundation in India. His social impact work has helped more than 700 villages. Can Sunny tell us about these initiatives?

In times of great stress and uncertainty, corporate wellness and wellbeing are more important than ever. Corporate wellness programs in particular have become the norm for many US and Global companies. The U.S. The Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services found that over 80% of companies in the US with over fifty employees offered some sort of corporate wellness benefit. Elsewhere in the world, in the UK for example, it is estimated that only 45% of companies currently offer workplace wellness schemes however this is on the rise with a recent report suggesting that the average number of annual working days per staff member lost to absenteeism or presenteeism has risen from 23 to 30 thus encouraging more companies to invest in wellness.

And Sunny Gurpreet Singh strongly believes in that: “Companies are seeking Corporate Wellness plans because health plans are falling short. Today, a company without a good health plan is at a disadvantage, in the future, the same will be true for companies without Corporate Wellbeing plans. The average person spends 90,000 hours of their life working. Does that take into account our personal wellbeing, our personal happiness? At the moment, the answer is, regrettably, no.

The interview will be live on Thomas Power’s Clubhouse TalkRoom, which currently reaches 146.000 members. ClubHouse is the new hotspot in Silicon Valley, valued at 4 billion USD and 20 million USD. You can follow the interview live on On Wednesday, June 2 at 10 am PST

  • The Founder of RoundGlass, Sunny Gurpreet Singh is a wellness leader whose mission is to inspire people to embrace wholistic wellbeing, creating a happier, healthier, and more joyful world for all.
  • The interview with Sunny Gurpreet Singh continues in the tradition of Dinis Guarda citiesabc openbusinesscouncil YouTube Series interviews with leading personalities in their fields.
  • “Wholistic wellbeing is something that everyone should follow because it makes one feel better; it is all about becoming a better person. Mentally, emotionally, and physically. The wholistic wellbeing notion explores all the verticals, channels, ways that one finds wholeness. This includes meditation, yoga, physical exercise, et cetera. Achieving wholistic wellbeing is like getting a degree in life,” Sunny Gurpreet Singh.

Combining technology, meditation techniques and innovative initiatives, the successful entrepreneur and wellness leader Sunny Singh has made his life mission to bring wholistic wellbeing to the world. An ambitious goal that he is fully committed to through his company, RoundGlass.

And Sunny Singh tells us his journey in the latest global thought leader guest for Dinis Guarda citiesabc openbusinesscouncil YouTube Series. The interview starts with a fascinating and detailed description of Singh’s early life experiences and the inspiration behind his later work. Further, the two discuss the idea of wholistic wellbeing, which is a concept that Sunny aims to popularise, and his work for RoundGlass.

“Everything that happened in my life up to this point, has been in preparation for RoundGlass. The same way, I was destined to become an entrepreneur. Some people are lucky to find their calling in life early. But for the majority of us, as the journey of life unfolds, we are continuously soul searching. The time spent soul searching is, however, not lost. It prepares you for what your real life purpose is, it shapes you, and it shapes your character”.

Singh comes from a humble background. He grew up in a lower middle class family. His father was a sportsman, a hockey player; one of the best Indian hockey players at some point, something that he achieved through sheer perseverance and hard work, as he did not even have proper shoes to begin with.

Later on, he received a scholarship to study in the United States. After graduation, Singh had worked at three different companies, realising very quickly at each that none of the jobs fulfilled him. He wanted to use his expertise solving supply chain and enterprise integration problems for a profitable organization that was making a meaningful difference.

So he set about trying to tackle one of the knottiest challenges facing American business—health-care costs. Singh believes making the industry more efficient by managing information in real time at the lowest possible cost would save enough to cover all uninsured Americans.

Edifecs was started using his consulting money, and his credit cards. At the time, he did not know about venture capital, or about investors.

When he launched the Bellevue-based Edifecs in 1996, he set some ambitious goals: no venture capitalists and no debt, but instead, growth and profit every year. He has guided the company through economic downturns and the recession and accomplished his goals: Edifecs is a profitable, self-funded, employee-owned company with no debt—as well as one of the fastest-growing health-care technology companies in the United States.

Edifecs helps improve the ways health-care organizations manage and leverage the information they exchange. It also streamlines and automates manual business processes such as enrollment, claims and payments management. The result? Greatly reduced administrative costs and on-target regulatory compliance without the risk, time and cost of replacing existing IT infrastructure.

    The idea of wholistic wellbeing

Singh discovered wholistic wellbeing in his 40’s. By that time, I achieved life success in the conventional sense; turning my healthcare company, Edifecs, from a struggling to an aggressively growing business.

    He realised that:

“Working a lot and hard is never productive. Doing less things, but doing them really well is much more beneficial than working hard. Habits are important”.

With RoundGlass, Singh decided to bring the wholistic wellbeing concepts to life. RoundGlass is a company that gives people the tools to live good and fulfilling lives.

“Wholistic wellbeing is something that everyone should follow because it makes one feel better; it is all about becoming a better person. Mentally, emotionally, and physically. The wholistic wellbeing notion explores all the verticals, channels, ways that one finds wholeness. This includes meditation, yoga, physical exercise, et cetera. Achieving wholistic wellbeing is like getting a degree in life. It means learning how to live. It gives one tools to answer the following questions: How do I sleep/eat/relax? How do I become a joyful learner for life? How do I give back to nature? How do I give back to the community?”

    Achievements

Singh has been honored as Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2011 for the Pacific Northwest in the Technology category.

An independent panel of judges representing regional businesses, academic institutions, and community leaders selected Singh for the award, which recognises outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses.

Singh has focused on hiring the best and the brightest of the healthcare industry elite.

“Edifecs would not have achieved the success it has today without the talented team of experts who are passionate about developing streamlined, quality solutions for the healthcare industry”.
