Play through the Pain – Richard Sherman confirms sprained elbow

Not playing in the Super Bowl isn’t an option – at last for Richard Sherman.

The Seattle cornerback confirmed an MRI showed that his elbow as sprained, and not playing in Super Bowl XLIX isn’t an option.

Sherman’s left arm was injured tackling Green Bay’s James Starks in the NFC championship. “I could still position myself to be in coverage,” Sherman said after the game. “It happened on the play I chased James Starks to the sidelines. One of my teammates went through us.”

The Seahawks travel to Arizona to face the Patriots with the hope that Sherman and Earl Thomas (dislocated shoulder – ouch !) will be able to recover in time.
